A little bit about who I am, why I do this, and the ministry I'm a part of.
I grew up in Peachtree Corners, GA, and came to Georgia College as a student in August 2022. Since early in college, ministry has played a huge role in shaping both my faith and the direction of my life. I originally got involved with the Wesley Foundation, which is now Awakening Collegiate Fellowship — and through that community, I was discipled, grew in my faith, and eventually felt called to lead.
In my time at Awakening, I've served on the Community Team for the past 3 years, helping create spaces where students can build relationships and experience Christ-centered community. I served on Fresh, welcoming and mentoring incoming freshmen as they navigated both college and faith. Most recently, I served as a Discipleship Intern — investing in students more intentionally through one-on-one discipleship.
I came to Milledgeville in August 2022 to attend Georgia College, not knowing a single person. My first couple of months I spent exploring different organizations and clubs, but nothing really felt like home. As the freshman housing rush came around and people started signing leases with their friends, I had nobody — I felt discouraged and alone. Then in late October I got an invite to Fresh, and from my very first night I felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. I quickly got closer with the guys there, and within a week I had signed a housing lease with three of them. We have lived in that house for the past three years, and watched our home become a gathering place for our friends and the greater Awakening community.
Although I initially came simply looking for community, it began to become something much deeper. As I became more involved, the leaders around me started pouring into me and challenging me in my faith. Through discipleship, accountability, and consistent encouragement, my relationship with the Lord grew from something I simply identified with to something deeply personal. I found a group of guys who will be lifelong friends — ones who challenge and encourage me to live more like Jesus every day.
What makes this ministry especially meaningful to me is that I've personally experienced what it looks like for someone to intentionally pour into my life spiritually. That kind of investment changed me — and because of it, God has grown in me a real desire to do the same for others. This year I'll be serving full time with ACF as a First Year Coordinator, overseeing and helping serve on the Community Team, the Fresh Team, and Alpha. My hope is to help develop leaders, build genuine community, and create spaces where students can encounter Jesus and grow roots that actually last. Here's a closer look at what that involves.
Four areas I get to pour into as First Year Coordinator.
The Community Team is where I've invested the most time over the past three years. This team exists to give the Awakening family spaces to just be together — building memories, having fun, and doing life outside of a service setting. As coordinator, my job is less about doing it all myself and more about empowering my team to bring their best ideas to life. I help guide, resource, and pull it all together so the community can just show up and connect.
On the Fresh Team, I serve alongside four other staff members focused on our Monday night environment for freshmen. Fresh features worship, a message, and small groups led by student leaders. My focus here is relational — checking in with leaders, making genuine connections with incoming freshmen, and hosting Fresh Hang days where our student leaders can connect and build relationships with one another.
Alpha is a global ministry initiative built around one simple idea: a safe, judgment-free space where anyone can ask honest questions about faith in Christ. At its core it's about reaching people who have never encountered Jesus — those who didn't grow up in the church, who have never heard the gospel, or who are simply curious for the first time. I help lead and oversee this ministry area at ACF, and it's one of the most meaningful things we do.
At the most personal level, I have the privilege of discipling three interns individually, walking alongside them in faith, growth, and calling. Discipleship is important, especially as you grow in life as a man and as a follower of Christ. Consistently meeting one on one, even through the busyness of life, is where some of the deepest growth happens — deepening intimacy with God and with one another and building accountability and vulnerability within community. Ministry is most personal at this level.
A Wesleyan-minded campus ministry called to make disciples of Jesus Christ, walking alongside students at Georgia College in Milledgeville, GA.
Our Monday night environment built specifically for freshmen — worship, a message, and small groups led by student leaders. A space designed to help incoming students find their people and their footing in faith.
Wednesday nights are for everyone. We gather as a full community for fellowship, worship, and a message from our director, Tate. It's the heartbeat of the week for the Awakening family.
From 11–2 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, we open the ACF building and hand out free coffee. It's a space for students to get away from the busyness of the week, be in fellowship, and for us to open our doors to the wider campus community.
